Mrs. DeCann’s Class

Welcome to Sunshine Elementary I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Wendy DeCann and I am honored to be your child’s First Grade teacher. I earned a degree from Bemidji State University, Bachelor of Science Degree Cum Laude -  Major: Elementary Education Specialty: Communication Arts and Literature.  Licensure: K– 6, 5 - 8

I am married and have two children, Shelby and Joshua. My husband Jay is also a teacher. We have 2 yellow labs and 3 cats.  Our eldest lab we rescued.  Our three cats have all been rescued too.  If we would live on a farm, I would love to save homeless animals (our family has a soft spot for them). In my spare time, I am a Thirty-One Gifts consultant, I love to work with my flowers in the spring and summer, I love to stamp cards, gifts, and anything I can think of to stamp, I love to spend time with my family and I love to read.

I am looking forward to working with you and your child in reaching his or her full potential. We will have many wonderful  learning experiences and opportunities to learn and grow in the days, weeks, and months ahead. Every day your child will have the opportunity to learn through a variety of learning activities.
