Discipline
Classroom Management
At Sunshine Elementary we use a positive discipline plan. Your child will be rewarded for good behavior. However, if there are behavior issues that need to be addressed, you will be contacted so we can work together to make a plan to help your child succeed. SUCCESS and LEARNING are the most important goals of my students. I will do anything I can to make sure your child learns and is successful in all that he or she does.
Classroom Management
We use pennies in our room. Each child starts with three pennies at the start of each day. If the student displays a behavior that is inappropriate or disruptive to the class, I will ask for a penny from him or her. That penny will be put in the bad bird jar. It may not seem like giving a penny away is that much, but they like to keep their pennies, they do not like to have to put them in the bad bird jar. At the end of the day all of the good pennies go in our celebration jar. Each child will receive a gumball, or small reward for the pennies that he or she have left. When that jar is full, it is time for celebration . The class will be able to decide on the celebration: popcorn part, movie, extra free time at recess, I eat lunch with them, etc. The celebration day the kids are so proud of themselves and their accomplishments. I am also very proud of them!
